Eat Like a Local: A First-Timer's Rule Book
(Todd — starter post. Swap in your actual favorite spots and delete this line.)
Vegas has some of the best food in America, and almost none of it is where tourists look for it.
Rule 1: Chinatown. Spring Mountain Road is miles of incredible food at half the Strip price. If you only follow one rule, follow this one.
Rule 2: Happy hour is a system. Half the good restaurants in this town run serious happy hours. Eat at 5pm like a retiree and pocket the difference for the tables.
Rule 3: The buffet math changed. Most buffets aren't the deal they were in the '90s. A few are still worth it — I'll post my current list.
Rule 4: Ask a dealer, a bartender, or a cab driver. Not the concierge. The concierge gets a cut.
